The Animated Series' Creator Has Seen Fans' Season 2 Bingo Cards — And She Has Positive Updates

The highly-awaited second season of the musical adult cartoon Hazbin Hotel launches on Prime Video this week, and fan speculation has been widespread.

The first season presents a large cast of characters residing in the afterlife, pits them against each other accompanied by musical numbers about their clashes, and builds heated competitions and angsty, affectionate connections that fuel fan obsession.

The community's expectations for season 2 vary widely, but certain themes emerge over and over: Will a fan-favorite character break free from Valentino? Might we learn more about the mysterious "deal" constraining Alastor the Radio Demon? Might certain characters' relationships evolve?

"Naturally, I don't produce the show with audience demands as the main goal," the creator commented recently. "However I believe that me being a fan of my own show means there's a lot of it just inherently. I also am eager for these things, and I want some of these things to occur, and clearly some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"

The creator reveals her big-picture plan is for a five-season run of Hazbin Hotel. Seasons 3 and 4 have already been green-lit by the production companies, which produce the series.

That could imply viewers have to wait years for some of the biggest payoffs — but they could be shocked at how fast the new season moves, and how many of what they're anticipating happens this season.

"I feel like people are going to get a lot out of it," she adds. "There are several debut moments. I think we get some really amazing reveals, some really cool backstories, and even basic elements, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] Audiences will experience additional musical numbers from the characters we didn't get to hear before."

She's certainly aware of the guesses and hopes about season 2 — particularly in the form of audience prediction charts.

"I've seen a couple people create a bingo card about season 2," she says. "Obviously I can't post it, but I've actually done some of them, and nearly every one of them have almost a bingo. I thought, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that leads me to believe we do a lot [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I was like, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that brings me joy."

Hazbin Hotel season 2 premieres on the streaming service on Oct. 29.
